Hi there,

I have my London embassy appointment scheduled for the end of January.

We are just gathering evidence for our I-134 affidavit of support form and have run into an issue with getting the statement from an officer of the bank with deposits, identifying the following regarding the account:

  • Date account opened
  • Total amount deposited for the pst year
  • Present balance

My fiancé went into her local Bank of America branch and was told this is likely to take up to 3 weeks to arrive to her, which would mean we would have to delay and reschedule our our embassy appointment.

Does anyone know if this exact piece of evidence is crucial or if we have enough other evidence i.e Bank statements, payslips, w2's and employer statements then we would be ok?

Many thanks,

Will

I don't know specifics of the London Embassy and how much of a stickler they are, but if it were me and I had the Bank Statements, I would request the document from Bank of America and proceed with the interview as originally scheduled. I can't imagine them giving you a 221g refusal for that letter, but if they do then you have it in process and can give it to them in the 221g response. I think it wouldn't be more of a delay than rescheduling the interview. Then if they don't ask for it you're good to go! That's just my opinion. :)
