Expect Big Changes in the White House Press Room as Trump Will All But Sideline Legacy Media

 

Rumors are flying hot and heavy inside the Beltway that Trump's media team is considering significant, even revolutionary, changes in the White House briefing room.

Ordinarily, the front row of seats is reserved for the "major" media outlets, including ABC, CBS, NBC, AP, Reuters, and CNN.  That lineup is as constant as spring rains and as holy as seniority in the College of Cardinals.

But there's a new sheriff in town, and suddenly, we're looking at a dry spring and overturning the sacred college.  Trump aides are thinking of mixing things up to give other, less biased media organizations a shot.

The White House Correspondent's Association (WHCA) is responsible for the briefing room seating chart.  To take that duty away from the WHCA is akin to a declaration of war on the legacy press.  That may be exactly what Trump's media team is looking for.  [...]

A Florida jury on Friday found CNN guilty of defaming a U.S. Navy veteran and security contractor with a 2021 story about the costs of evacuating Afghans after the Taliban took control of their country.

The jury ruled in favor of Zachary Young, who said his reputation and business were destroyed when the network showed his face onscreen during a segment about a black market of smugglers who were helping Afghans flee the country for high fees in the months after the U.S. withdrawal.

Jurors awarded Young $5 million for lost business opportunities and pain and suffering after 8.5 hours of deliberation across two days. The jury will now decide how much the network must pay in punitive damages. Lawyers for each party will have an opportunity to present additional evidence as the jury works to determine punitive damages.

So Trump Was Right All Along:  Court Finds That CNN Is Fake News

 

The establishment media is finally being exposed for what it really is — the propaganda arm for the hard left — and it's a glorious thing to see.  Two flagship media outlets, pillars of the "journalistic" establishment, have now lost defamation cases and must pony up millions as a result.  This is extremely good news for those who value the truth and are tired of these moneyed, undeservedly respected propaganda outlets manipulating the American people.

A month ago, ABC and its far-left propagandist George Stephanopoulos reached a settlement with Donald Trump, who had sued them for defamation.  The settlement involved the network forking over $15 million to Trump; it also precluded Trump's suit from going to trial. which showed that ABC's top dogs understood how weak their case really was: they were happy to pony up $15 million to make this thing go away rather than have a trial reveal just how far from actual journalism they had allowed themselves to stray.
