Given weak evidence of bonafide marriage, I'd take a lawyer to the interview.

What is a strong evidence of bonafide marriage? I was thinking marriage certificate, marriage album (with all functions) should suffice. Plus we have a child and I am paying child support which is another documented evidence. We didn't go to a honeymoon as she had to return to the US for job as she only had so many leaves.

Was wondering what else is needed as an evidence? Not questioning your point but just trying to understand what else would be needed?

1.Marriage certificate- Bring the copy if you don’t have the original. [Okay]
2.Marriage album- Print everything you have, even pictures from the period you dated your ex wife. [I can take the original album]
3.Child support- Just print the evidence of payments, does your child have your last name ? [Yes the child has my last name, does that make any difference?]
4.Marriage invite card- Sure, print that too if you have it. [Karan - I will try to take the original]

5.Emails, texts- print everything you have while you were dating, during marriage, I guess you can print and after marriage just to explain what was the cause of divorce. In my case the officer did ask me for the reason of my divorce. [We never dated, it was an arranged marriage. I have emails from courtship and post marriage as we were living in different countries]
Did you travel while being married? Flight tickets, stamps on passport, hotel bookings all of that can be helpful. [No proofs of this available]
Affidavits from your family, her family if possible, your mutual friends as well. You can find examples of affidavits on this site. [I can only get affidavits from my family]

Reason for divorce - we had irreconcilable differences and we filed for a mutual divorce. The divorce decree mentions that it was mutual and my ex-wife will keep full custody of the child. And now I am paying child support since an year since she filed for it in the court.

Reading the above answers, what are your thoughts to individual pointers and any other advice knowing these details from a 3rd party view of my situation.

Looks like the arranged marriages are very common in your country. So from that aspect it does make sense that didn’t date and couldn’t provide evidence of dating because it never happened. Definitely make sure to elaborate that.
Do you have any relatives that live in the US that could write an affidavit?

I am an expert but I don’t really see an issue here. You have a child with your ex. A child is one of the strongest evidence that you can provide. From my perspective, you shouldn’t have any issues.

If I was you, I would at least have a consultation with a lawyer or hire a lawyer if you can afford one , just to be on the safe side.

Most compelling evidence is typically lease / mortgage showing both names, utility bills with both names, joint bank account statements showing your shared finances, taxes filed together, health or car insurance policies showing both names, wills. Things of this nature.

Child is a plus, but you said yourself you cannot guarantee it's yours?

Good points...

We had a joint bank account which is now closed. But I should be able to fetch the statements and may even has the letter from the bank. Do you think that should be taken as a supporting evidence (thought its closed now)

For the child, I don't think anyone will question its not mine. Since I never got a paternity test done, that's why I dont know if its mine which is normal for most people. I don't worry about that at all as I am paying child support which is a documented court evidence too.

Yes, it's valuable evidence. It's normal that it's closed now - you're no longer married and don't share finances. You're proving marriage was real when it existed, and bank statements is great

Thanks for your inputs. Yes, arranged marriages are the most common form of marriages in my country. I will make sure to emphasize that. Do not have any relatives in the US that could write an affidavit.

Good idea, I will take a consultation from an immigration attorney to seek an opinion and see what he/she says. Basis that conversation, if they are good and not too expensive to hire, I will probably hire them too.
