Hi guys,

I saw that some of you mailed RFE. Was uploading it not an option? We received an RFE for a birth certificate and it’s allowing me to upload the document online. Should I still mail it to them ?

You don't get any confirmation or proof of uploading evidence. RFE letter is asking for mailing, right? If yes, theoretically USCIS would do a favor by looking at uploaded documents. But they don't have to.

I'd upload and mail with proof of delivery, so they can never say you didn't respond.

Pretty much exactly why I just mail everything that they might ask for

Hi, by any chance does someone know if you came under K1 and got married and filed for AOS, are you considered as a tax payer in US? I have insurance under my spouse and about to open a bank account soon and potentially soon I hope I will get an EAD. Currently, I need to buy update some information for my bank in my home country and technically you cannot be a tax payer in two countries. I'm not if anyone who is from Europe is familiar with this, I would appreciate your help.

No easy answer here, but you're generally a tax resident if:

- You spent 183 or more days in the US OR

- Got green card

Also, worth noting not all countries have treaties with the US, it's possible to be double taxed based on your other country rules.

Jaycel's EAD Application was approved 51 days after it was received (which was about 2 weeks after she went to the biometrics appointment) and received the card in the mail 10 days after the approval

Hi!
I’m feeling frustrated — still waiting…
The last update was 39 days ago, which was for the biometrics appointment, and it’s been 67 days since I submitted all the forms.

It said the process takes about 2 months, but I’m not sure if that counts from the receipt date or the biometrics appointment.

What’s confusing is that I’ve seen a lot of I-765 cases approved just 2 weeks or a month after biometrics, so I don’t understand why mine is taking so long.

USCIS processing has probably slowed down significantly with the new administration

it is quite unfortunate

Somehow things are moving slow really.. and somehow scary at times. But all we need now is a little more patience..

I was very lucky to get my wife's EAD processed quickly when I did.

Just checked currently this is what the current processing time is.

There are also many factors that can also play into processing times though as MalloryCat has stated with all the recent changes going on I would expect all kinds of cases with USCIS to be moving more slowly now.
