Cuz some states like AZ, even though you are a GC holder, they only give you the date to expiration date on the GC card for non real ID DL, CA has really friendly policy for immigrants

New Hampshire is like that too. It’s a bit strange though because MA issues full term REAL IDs to permanent residents. NC recently had an administrative order issued to reverse their policy of limited term licenses to LPRs, and they now explicitly have codified issuances of full-term licenses to LPRs.

I think it depends on whether your state goes off of SAVE end-of-status date or the document expiration you present. Ik for a fact MA goes off of SAVE, and NH goes off of whatever document you present.

SAVE always returns “indefinite” period of authorized stay for all LPRs, regardless of category of admission or expiration on the green card.

Well, CA DMV following CA laws... That's how it's supposed to be. Other states following their laws. 50 states with their own jurisdictions. Some with more relaxed rules, others with stricter rules.

What I'm not 100% sure is whether any state DMV or BMV can accept copy of I-797 to renew / issue DL or ID. I guess only if staff is not trained / doesn't care.

What are the essential supporting documents for the I-751

1. Lease agreement(s) or mortgage statements showing both names

2. Joint bank account statements (checking, savings)

3. Jointly filed tax return transcripts

4. Joint insurance policy / policies - car, health, life etc.

5.  Flight and hotel reservations showing both names

6. Copies of state IDs or driver licenses with matching address for both spouses

Make sure to provide all pages of those documents. Make sure your evidence covers period from date you married until now.

Brave?

Yes, banks block debit or credit card transactions all the time as fradulent. You can search VJ for reports. USCIS does not attempt charging card twice. If initial transaction declined, entire packet is rejected and returned.

So we received in the mail the I-797C for Biometrics reuse, but we have not yet received the 48-month extension letter on the official watermark paper in the mail.

In case we do not receive the 48-month extension letter, can we print a copy of the 48-month extension letter file from my.uscis.gov document tab and use that for travel?

Okay today, we received the I-797 NOA 48-month extension letter in the mail.

So that should tide us over for a while.

This is a lively group.

It is going to be fun having all of you as companions on our visa journey.

There have been applicants whose credit cards denied the charge which resulted in the rejection of the application.

I heard that happen to someone so I was expecting the same.  Im

pleased there’s now some movement.

I’m thankful that it went through.  That would have been a pain if they had rejected it.

Update!

1/21 - i751 sent to Carol Stream, IL

1/22 - delivered

1/28 - had a chat with an agent via Emma and got my IOE/receipt number! A couple of hours after that I also got a text from USCIS mentioning ‘case received.’

1/30 - check encashed

1/31 - via uscis case tracker, status changed to Biometrics Scheduled

Still don’t have access to myUSCIS account, i checked the one i created (but didnt put in the application cause of missing acct #), hoping it would just magically appear there, but nothing

Update -

2/2 - got my online access code via emma, and my schedule for biometrics (talking to uscis agents via emma is actually pretty nifty) ahead of the actual letter

2/3 - I797C green card extension letter received in mail (oddly this came first before the biometrics one)

A part of my extension letter has a smudge/weirdly printed section - is that ok????

Not normal/usual but probably okay and the letter remains valid/usable.
