When's the recommended time to change address with USCIS in this case? The lease for our new place started beginning of this month, but we are physically going to be moving in a week ( that's when our move-out date is from our old place). Should we go ahead and update the address with USCIS now? or wait till the actual day we physically move-in? Thanks

Within 10 days after the actual move date. AR11 is online so it takes only a few minutes. Make sure you print a copy of the acknowledgment of filing.

Does it hurt to file it early? Just in case something is sent during this time.

This is true. I got the notification in the mail at my new address of COA. Yet five months later, USCIS still sent my notification to file I-751 to my previous address. So hopefully once you file your ROC forms it will “stick” that your new current address IS your current address.
