I began earning money in the U.S. while visiting my Mom on a B2 visa and was introduced to my current USC husband by her. He and I formed a business partnership and romantic relationship which continues to the present. Any input on if this is 1. An acceptable explanation of "events and circumstances" about my unauthorized work and 2. what others have experienced/ written for pg 10 question 16 of the 1-485, would be greatly appreciated!

The reason will not help the issue … but you do need to be honest and declare your unauthorised employment. For your category (spouse) it not cause you to be ineligible for AOS. Misrepresentation .. failing to declare it .. will however do that.

I have already check yes on the box asking if I engaged in unauthorized work. I'm just not sure what is the best language to use. What kind of explanation and circumstances are they looking for? "I needed to earn money" just seems a little basic.

That sounds a good way to put it.
