JFK or Newark?

Hi everyone,

 

I’m planning to travel to America soon on my O1 visa. 


Just wondering what the port of entry is like. Do you all suggest going to JFK or Newark?


I heard many horror stories about rude officers yelling at people but idk if this differs for each airport.

On the tool bar at the top of this page, choose Office Reviews and Info, US Port of Entry Reviews.

 

There's a pull-down on the main search page that lets you choose between different points of entry.

 

It's nice in that most people will give you some specific detail about what happened when they entered.

NY, NJ,  all the people in that area can seem to be rude.  Don't let it bother you.  It's just the way it is sometimes.  

I'd say pick what works best for you.

If at first you don't succeed, then sky diving is not for you.

Rude officers, that can happen at any airport, unfortunately.  Usually, they will just be regular workers in an ok mood doing their job. 
I would pick the most convenient airport for you (location, cost of flight, etc.), then take a deep breath.   If New York is your final destination, you will be all set.  If you need to take another flight to your final destination, plan a long layover so you have time to deal with the immigration, luggage, and make it to your next flight.

I only went through Newark once and a long time ago, it lived up to is reputation
