Which visa to investigate?

A self employed Canadian wants to work remotely (for Canadian Clients) while visiting extensively in the US what visa do we need to investigate first.  We do realize that in order to legal work while visiting he will need a work authorization first.

Not possible. No such work authorisation.

Unlike some countries (Costa Rica comes to mind), the US does not have visas for nomadic workers.  Like all Canadian citizens, he can visit (subject to CBP), but remote work is not legal.

He can visit, extensively may be an issue.
