Question regarding frequent travel on B1/B2

My sister-in-law has a multiyear visit visa, she went to the US in December last year and is planning to come back in Feb to attend a friend's wedding, she is concerned that she might have an issue because of the short turnaround time. Feb visit will be her 3rd visit in the past 12 months. 1st visit was in April last year for 2 weeks, the second visit was in December for two weeks, and then this upcoming one. She does not want to have issues because she wants to keep traveling to meet her family here in the US and she thinks that turning around within two months is not a good idea. I think her fear is unfounded as there is no intent for her to stay because she has her kids, husband, etc in Pakistan. but again I thought I would ask the people who might have gone through this.

Nobody can predict what CBP would decide. It's best to reduce frequency and length of US trips.

of course, no one can predict CBP, all her visits so far have been 2 weeks or under, and she wasn't questioned once at the airport. Always travelled with set itineraries, cash, ties back home etc. but was never asked. Funny enough, she is concerned that it is too short of a turnaround and might raise a red flag and I am thinking that her fear is unfounded. Basically I am trying to reason that she should visit, its a proper wedding and I do not see how CBP will question her intent when her kids, husband, business etc are in another country. But yeah you are right I assume.

I think one year I managed 6 short visits, the shortest one was a long weekend.

 

3 visits of 2 weeks probably will not raise eyebrows no one can say, tends to be multiple long visits that get attention

which country you were coming from might also matter, my sister-in-law is flying in from Pakistan which is the capital of visa frauds, so definitely gets more scrutiny

When I travelled to US as a tourist (3 visits of 1-2 weeks each) on ESTA, I once got a question from CBP. It was a friendly, "casual chat style" question, the guide almost smiled at me saying "Are you working here buddy?" to which I replied firmly I wasn't, as I had a full time job back home. I travelled from a very trusted European country, but I later realized they're probing me I guess...

As this is her visa on the line. It will be all on how much risk she wants to take. If she is not comfortable with that risk that is up to her. Do not keep pushing her to try, it's not your visa that will be cancelled. 

I would never tell anyone to take that risk just because you think it is a legit reason to visit. Many many ppl get turned around for legit reasons.

 

She does have ties to home, like her husband and kids, but at the same time those ties have not stopped her from coming to the US twice already without them.

yeah I think it makes sense, why create an issue when she is already coming here twice a year for small visits. I appreciate all your guidance.

How does she get all this time away to be able to travel?

It’s a question that CBP may raise, and wildbug asked it to help you see the issues with the frequent visits.
