Hi all,

I had my interview yesterday at the US Consulate in Amsterdam, for my O1 visa.

The officer said it’s approved and I should have my passport back in a week.

I asked him if he needed anything else and he said I’m all set.

I checked the status on CEAC website and it said “approved” after the interview, but it changed to “application received” on the same day.

Has anyone been in the same boat? I worry this isn’t gonna go right.

Is this a normal thing in the process?

thanks!!

As the O-1 is a Non-Immigrant visa, after the interview approval and for the purposes of administrative processing, it will be "converted" to the Non-Immigrant Visa section of the consulate for the AP and Visa Issuance. To do this, it goes to them as an "Application". Per the status you indicated, they have received it and are processing it. This is the same thing that happens with K-1 Visas as they are also Non-Immigrant. Nothing out of the ordinary here
