Did you receive your case number yet? Ours approved on Jan29th and sent to DOS on Feb18th.

No. I sent a public inquiry on February 19th 3 days later they replied no case number yet. It was sent to DOS on February 12th. I see they are working on the 18th so I sent another PI today.

When can we schedule the medical?  Does anyone know?  Do we need to have the "welcome letter" in hand?

Don’t schedule the medical until you have an interview date. The medical expires after 6 months and you need that when you apply for adjustment of status. I recommend checking how behind appointments are for the Medical and if they are behind you can schedule that first.

Thats great news. So your petition sent to DOS on Feb 12th and you got your case number today? Our case sent to DOS on Feb 18th. The NVC current processing time frame says they are working on cases received from Feb 19th. Does that mean our case was processed already ? Could you please share your inputs?

We received case number as a reply to the public inquiry today. Currently the status shows as At NVC. How long it takes to change the status to InTransit/Ready? We are not sure when to book medical. Kindly share.

theres no real timeline

it could take a few days, some peoples cases get stuck at the NVC for months.

you shouldn't schedule your medical until you can schedule your interview as well.

they need to be done pretty close together as the medical exam is only valid for 6 months, and the 6 months the visa is valid starts from the day your medical exam is done, not from the day of the visa approval.
