My husband’s visa was issued since dec 19, however, we haven’t been able to create a profile in the new visa appointment scheduling system and he hasn’t been able to pick up his passport. I have been in communications with the support desk since November to fix this issue with no success. His case is old, since 2021 when the consulate was working with ustraveldocs.
Has anyone gone through this nightmare and if so, what worked? TIA.

What exact issues are you facing?

He went for his interview in November. At that time, we approached one of the private services outside the embassy so that they could help us create the profile. When we used his email address to create the account and register the interview appointment, the system gave us a message that said “The case number is not ready to schedule an appointment.” The person then tried to make another profile with my email address, and we received the same message. We couldn’t continue registering the appointment. Since then, we have talked to the Support Desk of AIS.usvisa many times and we are still getting the same message. Because of this, he is not able to choose a location to pick up his passport.

Have you tried to reach out to the embassy directly?  You might want to send an email with a very clear subject line (case number, full name, expeditious passport return request)

The embassy sent us an email on the 30th basically stating that they are ready to send his passport out but cannot because he hasn’t created a profile. I responded explaining what was happening and gave them the address of the DHL location where we would like the passport to be sent. They have not answered but his case was updated yesterday and we have not received any notification regarding his passport.

That was also over the Holidays, I would follow up on Monday.  Best of luck.

For Honduras

After an approved visa application, you can pick up your passport and visa from a designated location in Honduras:

  • Notification
You will receive an email with instructions on how to pick up your documents, including the location. This email will be sent to the address you provided when you scheduled your appointment

I am in Honduras also... What do you mean by "services outside the embassy"? This has me a little nervous for you because there are so many -services outside the embassy and other government offices - holding people's bags, bank transactions, etc that are questionable.  I always thought you selected passport return before the appointment. I agree with the others, call the embassy. keep us posted please...

We did not schedule our appointment, the embassy gave us the date. We have been told by the support desk that the embassy will not send the passport out unless we have a profile and indicate there where we want to pick up the passport. I don’t want to schedule anything. He had his appt in November and visa was issued on 12/19

I'd go back to emailing the embassy to get this pushed through. Or calling.
