Hey together...

Can you maybe tell me how we get a receipt number when we sent out a money order?

We filed 129-F on july 23rd... my fiance called Western Union a couple of times, but it's still not cashed...

IF they cash it... how can we find out the receipt number?

(wondering IF they cash it because we adressed it to USCIS Texas Service Center, instead of Department of Homeland Security)

Do you have any ideas if they cash it most likely anyway? And if so... how can we find out the receipt number?

Thank you all so much

from everything I've heard, I don't think you can... I think you have to wait for the hard copy of the NOA1

someone else may know otherwise, though

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

This might be fun since they don't seem to send out NOA1... or at least not many of them make it to the petitioners...

Any idea if they'll cash the Money Order since it was adressed wrong?

I don't want to believe I am the only one who made that mistake... :crying:

Thank you so much :-))

I don't know about the address problems - I've heard of cheques being sent back for an incorrect address, but you never know; you might be lucky... and in any case, no: I'm sure you're not the only ones to do such a thing ;)

I'd give it a week or two longer and then call if you haven't got anything in the mail... you should hear ONE way or another; either NOA1 or a returned package if there's a problem... all the best with it :)

HEY, W

i THINK WE HAVE THE SAME SITUATION NOW. MY FIANCE SEND MONEYORDER TOO. AND UNTIL WE DONT KNOW WHATS GOING NEXT. SO I WONDER WHEN WE ARE GETTING OUR NOA1.

It shouldn't be too much longer before you receive the NOA 1. I used a USPS money order and had no problems. When I did Claudeth's AOS I wrote a personal check but couldn't see any recognizable number on the back.

If they can not cash the money order, they will send the packet back to you. That's what I've heard as far as sending a check for the wrong amount anyhow. At that point, you may want to consider sending a personal check so that you will have your number before receiving the paper NOA1. You can go to Western Union and get your money back. Good luck!

Hya,

I sent off my AOS package the same day as you sent your I-129F and my money orders were only presented for cashing on Friday, still no NOA1.

With the increase in applications, they are just taking a lot longer.

Hopefully you should hear something soon...
