I am hoping to apply for a Netherlands Schengen Visa with my expired green card plus i751 receipt notice, which extends the green card for 48 months. Anyone has experience getting Netherlands Schengen visa in the same condition?

I saw posts about getting Schengen visa from other EU countries without an issue but I felt each Schengen country handles it a bit differently.

US green card is (usually) irrelevant for visas to other countries, though there are cases where certain EU countries do not require transit visas from US LPRs.

In your case the Dutch embassy/consulate will likely only require the GC/extension letter for verifying that you are a US resident and thereby authorized to apply for a visa here. The local staff would be well aware of expired GCs and extension letters so you should be fine. Whether you get approved or not will of course depend on your nationality and travel circumstances.

Thank you! What you said makes sense. Yeah, I am mostly concerned whether they acknowledge that I can come back to the US using expired GC plus extension letter because I guess this gives them a reason to believe I won't overstay and will get back to where I was. I heard some EU countries don't recognize and insist on an unexpired plastic green card despite this has been going on for so many years.
