Got the paper receipt (had paper filed) today. I went to the account, click on documents and it says Biometrics reused but the case status doesn't reflect it. I am going to assume I won't need to go for biometrics. Looks like few folks in the list below me are seeing some biometric notices being sent.

As of January 25, 2025, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

When I filed (1/14), the estimated wait time was 5.5 months. Now it's 8!
Not surprised, but definitely disappointed as I just want to be done with all this and finally feel settled for good!

Hoping for a smooth process!

I know you've heard this a million times, but do ignore the estimates.

- N400 & I-912 paper filing

- Delivered to AZ 21st January

- FO Los Angeles

Fingers crossed it’s as swift as some are experiencing.

Received mail from UCSIS today 8th of Feb. Annoyingly have lost mailbox key so in suspense as to what it says. Seems to be at a similar speed to @ODATT as our paper applications were received within days of each other.

You circled entries for people who filed during election year. With election year over and new administration, it's likely new cases will take longer.

You have a point, I checked 2022 and 2023 for Hartford again and the average was 6 months.

Just like with stock market, past performance doesn't guarantee the future returns, in this case processing times. There's hiring freeze for federal employees in place. I'm not sure how USCIS is going to keep up with older processing time with potentially fewer staff.

Yes this is exactly why I am a little nervous, I know estimates don't mean much but given the USCIS website went from an estimate of 5.5 mo to 8 I think they are noticing a trend and seeing delays.
I am not overly concerned, just would like this to be over with so that I can breathe a sigh of relief. :)

The letter was a I-797 | Notice of Action

USCIS Received Date: 21 Jan 2025

Notice Date: 05 Feb 2025.

Although the letter contained a receipt number and my USCIS Online Account number, I was unable to add this case to my existing online account as there was no access code on the letter.

Positive side is that this was received and processed within two weeks.

Thank you for submitting your application, petition, or request. Our office is currently processing it.

Please verify your personal information listed above. If you need to make any changes, immediately notify the USCIS Contact Center using the phone number below.

Next Steps:

  • We will schedule you for an appointment at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for you to provide your fingerprints, photograph and/or signature.
  • We will mail you a separate biometrics appointment notice with the specific date, time, and ASC location. Please wait until you receive your appointment notice before going to the ASC.

Be advised that this notice does NOT serve as notification of your biometrics appointment.

Filing the Form N-400 provides an automatic extension of your Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card). This notice, presented along with your expired Permanent Resident Card, is evidence of your lawful permanent resident status for 24 months from the "Card Expires" date indicated on your Permanent Resident Card.

One more letter should be on the way with the access code.

I called the USCIS hotline, got through to an agent by saying I wanted to update details. Agent gave me an access code but it’s not adding to my account. May not be the latest code?
