First, thank you to Carlos@Gen for starting this thread. Best wishes to all N-400 filers here. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 TOO!!!!!!

It's been a few years since we visited this site and forgotten some of the lingo we use here.

We filed my wife's N-400 last night (01/18/2025) and received four repeated text messages and an email about 10 minutes after making the fee payment directing us to log in and found out a CASE # and USCIS account number.

Is this information received considered the NOA1 for the Citizenship process?

Go to Documents section tab and find the docs. There should be NOA1 there

My attorney sent the application to the lock box. The RD is today, but I assume it won’t be today and will most likely be 1/21? Any idea how long before USCIS send the case number so I can start tracking the application

Typically, 4-6 weeks from mailing date. If it arrived today, you'll hopefully get a mail in 2-3 weeks. May take longer than that too.

Happy Sunday to everyone !!

Three questions:

1. Approximately two years ago, a friend had his interview rescheduled by the IO on the day of his interview because he was out of the States within 15

   days of the interview.

Is there a requisite regulating how many consecutive days the applicant must be present in the US before the citizenship interview? (I couldn't find

   anything on the USCIS     website).

2. Can the applicant bring and use a copy of his/her N-400 or written information regarding dates such as prior places of residence, employment, and

trips to answer questions related to this matter?

3. Before the N-400 is filed online you can attach and delete files, I know you can still add more files after filing, but can you delete one or more files

  after filing?

I am asking because as additional documentation I attached the last available IRS transcripts, (3) and I am unsure if it was a good idea.

I believe this was a COVID measure? At some point when you'd been out of the country within 14 days of your appointment/interview they would cancel and reschedule you. I don't think this is a rule (or enforced) anymore.

Thank you. Has there been a trend of re-using biometrics?  The last time I did those was who knows how long ago.

Yes, a lot of filers get their biometrics reused. However, don't forget there's new administration coming tomorrow. This may change internal USCIS policies increasing number of people having to do biometrics.

I watched a recent video about the N-400 process by an attorney, he mentioned a photograph of the applicant and a picture of the back of the "green card" in addition to the front of it.  Did I miss that in the online application?

Photo is irrelevan.

As to GC, you needed to upload front and back of it with application.
