I passed my citizenship exam in November 2024 and received the naturalization approval letter that same month. However, my current status shows that I’m still placed in line for oath ceremony.

I understand that the process might take longer with a name change, but is it normal for it to take this long? I’m curious about other’s experiences - how long did it take for you to get scheduled for your oath ceremony?

unfortunately, we now have to cancel an international trip planned for March because of the uncertainty. Would love to hear your insights!

Is your name change due to you taking your husband’s last name? When I did mine 8 years ago, I did the ceremony the same day I had the interview and I dropped my last name for my husband’s last name. I remember at the interview, the officer told me if I wanted to keep my last name and still add my husband’s name (hyphenated), it would have to go through a process and that would delay my naturalization process.
