I am filing for I864.

I started working in July 2024 and my salary is 60K a year. My wife was working in the past and she made > 30k each year but she stopped working in Nov 2024 right before our wedding.

When filing I864, since she stopped working, her annual income is now should be considered 0, right? We will provide the last 3 tax returns available (2023,2022,2021), but will it be okay to file with current annual income of 0?

I am hesitant to file as a joint sponsor because I have never filed my taxes yet. Should i add my self as a sponsor to bring up our income to 60K and attach my last 6 month payrolls? or will a total current income of 0$ with above the poverty line tax returns be enough?

Are you sponsoring your wife or another family member?  Are you the petitioner for your spouse or other family member?  If you are the primary petitioner, you are the primary sponsor and need to fill out an I864 (i.e. you are not a joint sponsor).  You may need to find a joint sponsor.  If this is another family member, and they are going through consulate processing, your wife should also fill out an I864A even if her current income is $0, and especially if you filed taxes jointly.

Good Luck!

My wife is the US citizen. We are filing I130 online, and mailing I485, I864, I131, I693, I765.

I have some questions regarding I864 form.

OK, so she has to fill out an I864 as the primary sponsor and if she is not working right now she has to show $0 income.  Since you are AOS's, I assume the job you started is US based and the income will continue. You can fill out the I864A to add to your wife's I864, but it might be a good idea to find a joint sponsor.

Good Luck!

P.S.  I reported your thread to have a moderator move it to the correct forum (AOS from visitor/work visa).
