Seeking Advice on Delayed IR2 Visa Interview (merged)

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who advised me to contact the Montreal embassy. After a lot of back-and-forth emails, I was finally able to schedule my IR-2 immigrant visa interview! I truly appreciate all the guidance and input from this community—thank you

Now that my interview is scheduled, I’d love to hear from anyone who has recently gone through the Montreal embassy’s IR-2 interview process. If you have any insights, personal experiences, or tips that could help me prepare, I’d really appreciate it.

Looking forward to your advice—thanks again

Congrats on finally getting the interview scheduled!

If you search the forum, there are many reviews people have written regarding the Montreal Consulate.  The biggest takeaway is you can't bring in phones, smart watches or tablets, so leave those in your hotel.  You might be able to get a locker, but if you have somewhere safe, just leave them there.  Also, no bags.  Bring your paperwork in a folder or something (I used an accordion flexi-folder with a zip) but no bags.  Bring a magazine or a book because you could be there for a while.

And bring originals BC- MC and divorce / annulment documents… that was all they asked from me

good luck !!! Honestly it’s the easiest part … but it’s a long boring wait
