OK. You said above you hadn’t contacted them! Definitely phone them if you haven’t done that already, and also submit a NVC enquiry (via the official form, not email). You could also try tweeting them, and any other email address you can find - at this point I’d just bombard them with emails/calls until somebody responds! If you still haven’t had any luck by the end of January, I’d look at filing the WOM. There’s a guide on the forum for filing it yourself which you can hunt for.

Okay, I’m emailing them again—let’s hope for a response this time. I’m sending the email to these addresses:

Should I include any other email addresses?

For the phone number, is there a specific number I should contact, or should I just use the one listed on the embassy website?

Do the NVC enquiry form, not email.

And use the Montreal specific phone numbers.

Good luck!

Gave it in a post above, but worth sharing again! I’m not sure NVC can do anything if it’s with Montreal but it’s worth a try.

"Subject: Urgent Inquiry About IR2 Visa Application Delay – MTL**********

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my concern regarding the unexplained and prolonged delay in processing my daughter (Name) IR2 immigrant visa application. Her interview, originally scheduled for February 6, 2024, at 7:45 AM, was canceled, and since then, we have received no updates or progress on her case.

Applicant Details:

  • Principal Applicant Name: Daughter Name
  • NVC Case Number: MTL**********
  • Invoice ID Number: IVSCA00000000000
  • A #: **********
  • Documentarily Qualified Date: September 25, 2023

On June 3, 2024, we received an email notifying us of her Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment. However, when we attempted to schedule the appointment on the website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/), we encountered the following error message:
"The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment."

This issue has persisted since then, and we do not understand why we are unable to book an appointment despite receiving the email.

As outlined on your website (Immigrant Visa Process), the expected processing timeline for immediate relatives is 3-4 months. It has now been over 12 months since the case was documentarily qualified, and we remain without communication or progress on her case.

We previously sent an inquiry via email on August 1, 2024, but have not received any response.

We are deeply concerned about the lack of updates and clarity regarding this delay. Could you please confirm the current status of her case, clarify the reason for the inability to schedule the appointment, and provide an explanation for the prolonged delay? If any further documentation or actions are required on our part, please inform us immediately.

We urge you to address this matter promptly and provide a clear update at the earliest opportunity.

Thank you for your attention to this issue.

Sincerely,
Full Name (Petitioner)

I wanted to share an update regarding my recent efforts to get some clarity on the delay with my IR2 visa applications. I sent emails to the following addresses:

Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com

montreal-iv-dv@state.gov

NVCInquiry@state.gov

I received a response from canada.visas@gdit-gss.com, but they informed me that this email is only for non-immigrant visa appointment scheduling. They advised me to contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate directly.

I’m wondering if anyone has had success contacting the U.S. Consulate in Montreal using montreal-iv-dv@state.gov or the NVC at NVCInquiry@state.gov. Also, is there any other email address or contact method you’d recommend?

I appreciate any input or advice you can share!

NVCInquiry@state.gov

When contacting the NVC, this email address will get you no information regarding your specific case. They will only give you generic information in response to emails sent to that address. If you want case specific help from NVC, you must use the online inquiry form here:
