Anyone has their Jan 29 2025 interview in Montreal rescheduled by the consulate due to unforseen reasons?

My wife (applicant) just received an email today stating the following:

image.thumb.png.59527795babea710eb39ed87cf83cb3f.png

On the ais.usvisa-info.com website, it still shows my wife scheduled for 1/29/2025.

My stepkid doesn't even show up on the website since the consulate "added" her and let us know via email (I request that my congressman's office asked that my stepkid gets merged on the same day as my wife's). I guess we're bringing the kid with us regardless if we still haven't recieved a notification that the kid's interview date was also moved.

Her new interview date is Jan 14. Good thing that I purchased flight tickets that had a no change fee (still economy) with Air Canada since I felt that I should do that just in case eventhough it was more expensive that regular economy basic.

Spouse/Wife (IR-1) - been married since 2020

Minor Stepchild (IR-2) - known the child since 2020

Both have their own case numbers

Applied around April 2023 (I-130s) - started this entire process

Uploaded docs to CEAC website around April 2024

Both were documentararily approved around August 2024

First interview date (Jan 29 25) scheduled for wife - notified around November 2024

Asked for NVC/Montreal to merge stepchild with wife's original interview date around November 2024

Emailed Congressman to help merge stepchild's interview date and successfully around December 2024

Montreal embassy cancelled/rescheduled a new interview date (Jan 14 2025) around Christmas week of December 2024

Emailed Montreal embassy to merge stepchild's old interview date (Jan 29) with wife;snew interview date around December 30 2024 - no response

Contacted Congressman (on Jan 9 2025) to help merge stepchild's old interview date with wife's new interview date (Jan 14) - successfully merged with spouse on 1/10/2025

Embassy interview for both spouse and child on Jan 14, 2025 @ 9:45 AM EST - Verbally approved and Child Visa ISSUED same day but wife's CEAC status is still READY.

Jan 15, 2025 - Checked at 7:45 AM EST, spouse's status still says READY but at 10:23 AM EST, shows ISSUED !!!

1/29 is National Day of Remembrance for the attack on mosque in Quebec

so, they have moved your interview date up / this is good news

and why purchase tickets without the visa in hand?

Pretty sure the tickets the OP refers to are to get to the interview…

Purchased flight for the interview from Toronto to Montreal.

Thank you for letting me know about National Day of Rememberance since I was not aware of that event.

That is correct...interview flight from Toronto to Montreal. I didn't want to drive 6 hours in the middle of winter since my wife lives in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.

My date has now changed three times

jan 9

then to Jan 7

then back to Jan 9

and now today it is moved again to  Jan 15

which means all new flights, hotels , moving all the items we had the following week …

NOT impressed at all

NINE days out from my date …. It’s in human and I  am LIVID

Random question - in this email - Did the email say "Dear Last Name First Name" backwards? I got a different email from the same address but wasn't sure if it's a scam...

The email states "Dear lastname of my wife (no comma) and firstname of my wife (no comma)"

The body of the email was in English and French.

And the closing of the email is from an address that I have never seen before:

image.thumb.png.e2499600af84f5d7536e6d4326e2e7e2.png

However, from the interview website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv), still shows my wife's original Jan 29 2025 appointment. I've emailed the Montreal consulate about our child's interview date (originally same as my wife) since we haven't received anything about our 9 year old's updated interview schedule yet. No response from the Montreal consulate.

Thus, I hope that email stating the change to the interview date is LEGIT but the website doesn't show the update or are we supposed to "cancel" and re-register? I cannot get any IT support/answer for the website (tried calling and emailing).

However, my wife received another emailing confirming the new date change and it seems LEGIT: (again not reflected on the website, "https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv" of the date/time change)

@siamnet74 please fill out your timeline: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=482347

What visa category are your partner and stepchild?  If in the CR/IR category, the child does not qualify as a derivative beneficiary and will require their own approved I-130 and DS-260 before an interview can be scheduled for said child.  If this hasn't been completed, I would wait to schedule your spouses' interview, file and call USCIS, request to speak to a Tier 2 agent and ask for an expedite.  Same goes after the I-130 is approved when it goes to DoS.

My wife is IR-1 and my minor stepchild is IR-2 (9 years old). The both have their own case number (e.g., they had their own I-130 apps, DS260s). Both have been DQ since August 2024 for each of their DS260s (CEAC's website).

Their interview date of Jan 29 (original) were already merged (mid December 2024) after an expedited request from my Congressman.  However, Montreal hasn't responded (since Dec 30 2024) to my email requesting merging for this new interview date (Jan 14). Montreal gave a notice to my wife around Christmas time of her new interview date (earlier than origianl date).

I became desperate and emailed my Congressman's office yesterdy and they sent a request to Montreal embassy and awaiting response about the merge.

Thank you for clarifying.  If you'd fill out your timeline, these questions wouldn't have had to have been asked.

A number of people had interviews rescheduled for January due to President Carter's funeral.  I wouldn't doubt something got messed up in the shuffle. Hopefully your Congressperson's e-mail gets answered in due time.  Does your child have their own interview scheduled at all?
