Pretty much the title with the additional context below. Mr. Trump has said that he's not for chain migration (alluding to family sponsorship by US citizens). Nobody knows but does it mean one should hurry up and get the I-130s of any overseas siblings filed before he takes office? Thank you!

PS: I also read in this forum that this category may be at risk in future. I'm assuming any applications already filed at the point will still be honored and applying such rule retroactively is not likely to occur.

He hasn’t specified a plan, only that he wants to end chain migration and birthright citizenship.

Anyone can speculate, but no one knows for sure.

regardless of what trump does or does not change about the process, your siblings will not have visas available for them for 15-20 years.

If you have yet to file Trump would be over 100 before your PD would be current.

Regardless of Trump’s plans you should hurry up and file anyway. It’ll take decades so where’s the benefit in delaying it? You asked about it 6 months ago, ideally you’d have applied back then!

Just submit, get in line and then worry about Trump if that becomes an issue in the future.

Trump cannot rewrite any laws. Congress creates laws and we all know Congress does not do anything year after year . They make millions on the side and bicker and whine every time. they get on TV to keep their voters happy.

Reality nothing is going to change whether its Trump or another guy

duh
