Hey everybody,

after a joyful wedding we are now preparing our aos packet. As we all know the marvelous decision has been made to require all i-485 forms to have an I-693. Woohoo…

Anyhow. I am trying to find a civil surgeon who a) does not try to scam me into a full medical and b) doesn’t ask for 300-500 dollars for a bit of paperwork.

My question to everyone is: is this amount of money normal for this bit of paperwork? And: if it isn’t, does anybody know a civil surgeon in the Orlando area who doesn’t try to get you to do a full medical exam and/or make you pay full price?

don’t get me wrong, if this is a normal price I’m a-ok with it. I just want to make sure I’m not getting conned :)

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!

If the foreign spouse had a medical overseas for the K-1 visa within 1 year of filing the I-485, you are exempt from the requirement to file the I-693 with your I-485. If your DS-3025 is complete and the box on the back of the form that says "K Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements" is checked, then I would feel confident just including a copy of the completed DS-3025 along with your AOS package to remind them that you are exempt from the requirement and will also serve as a reminder to your adjudicator to look for your medical exam report that CPB took at the port of entry in your yellow packet and should have sent to USCIS to add to your A-File

All?

Let's not confuse anyone who may come across this thread and be a silent reader.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-693

"ALERT: Effective Dec. 2, 2024, if you are required to submit Form I-693, or a partial Form I-693 (such as the Vaccination Record), you must submit it with your Form I-485. Otherwise, we may reject your Form I-485."

Like the above comment states, K1s are exempt if they followed the overseas medical protocol and completed theirs.

You'll see that if you read through the I693 instructions as well.
