You're right I missed the fact the father of kids was US citizen and spouse of immigrant who got deported.

i don't see the us government letting her back into the usa so she can jump through the legal hoops to stay.  i suspect she'll have an extended stay
in mexico while the paperwork takes a slow boat to china...
