Hello, We are scheduled to attend the interview (EB2 NIW) on 17th January but my son was born recently (long after DQ) and I want to add him to my application.

Based on my understanding, I should write to the Montreal embassy IV email (Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov) and make the request by providing his birth certificate and passport. I did this two weeks ago, and yet I haven't received a response!

Did I do it wrong? Is there any other paths to add him to my application?

Continental drift happens faster than Montreal responding to messages.  The consulate typically averages about 6-8 weeks to respond to anything.  Make sure you have all of his paperwork (birth certificate, passport) and take it with you to the interview.

Oh, and you may want to ask here:

I think someone else had to add a new baby not that long ago.

One last thing, if you can fill out your timeline, it's a great help: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=482221
