Still haven't received my I-485 receipt in the mail. How to check if they even got my application?

Hi everyone,

 

I sent my I-485 application along with my work permit application about a month ago and still haven't gotten my receipt in the mail.

I'm worried if they even got my application...

Is there any way to check if they got my application in the mail, or is waiting the only thing I can do?

if you got a tracking number from whoever you mailed it with you can check that to see if it was delivered

but i believe USCIS is taking 8-10 weeks to send out receipt notices

Thank you. I thought their website said 2-4 weeks so I was getting a bit worried but that's a lot longer time to wait than I expected.

yea its unfortunate

with the upcoming administration change USCIS is more than likely getting an influx of cases

so everything is probably gonna slow down for awhile

Did you send it via a method with a tracking number that you can inquire if it was delivered? How did you pay the fees? Did they cash the checks/money orders/charge your credit card?

all forms of mailing UPS ,  Fed Ex and even the post office have tracking numbers / USPS gives out printed  receipt with tracking number

 

always consider weather a factor in any delivery mail
