@JeanneAdil I think you missed the misrepresentation part. It looks like that’s what OP is worried about if I understood the post well.

since this is "a friend" we do not know if visa was revoked or just expired after returning home

poster said "He was on a work visa in the U. S. a while back and after coming back to his home country, he quit that job so his visa was revoked for that reason"

So,  was he called to embassy to stamp visa revoked?

as USCIS says Generally, USCIS will not automatically revoke a work visa simply because a non-immigrant worker returns to their home country after their authorized stay expires; however, if there is evidence of visa misuse, fraud, or other violations during their time in the US, USCIS could take action to revoke the visa, potentially preventing future re-entry.  the "friend" would know if the visa was actually revoked and that person is not posting . So we don't have all info

but what i said is still true

he waits to see embassy decision

petition can be sent back to US

or he can be called back to explain in another interview and then decision made

They didn't keep any of the documents that were requested. The medical, vaccination records, passport photos, etc.

Medical they should have kept but other documents , our embassy never looked at them /  they just note when a person brings them in or doesn't /  you can have documents and CO doen't want to see them and then asks for a person to send them to embassy later.

That is definitely a concern, too. So the missing document isn't a big deal, but what concerns me is that they didn't keep anything that he brought to the interview. I don't think they even kept the medical records.

The wife is a really good friend of mine and I want to stay positive for her, so I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience and what the outcome was in their care.

I don't know how the process works with a work visa, but from how he explained it, he worked in the States for a company that invited him to come on a work visa (constructon), and when he returned to Bosnia and quit the company, the visa was invalidated or maybe withdrawn by the ex employer, but he was never called to the embassy to do anything. I believe he mistakenly used the term 'revoked'. I am not sure if the contract had ended by that time, or if he quit before finishing it, which would then, I guess, create an issue for him if he wanted to apply for a work visa again.

The type of visa he had may be important and answer the question.

It hasn't been easy getting all the answers from him and I genuinely believe he doesn't know/isn't sure. I have a feeling it was a h2b visa. I'm not even sure how long he was here for. The wife told me the company flew all their workers home every 4 months 🤷‍♀️

Also, looks like he quit the job while he was still in the US and the employer contacted him 10-14 days later with a ticket to go home and he left and has been in Bosnia since.

They met in the States in 2020 or 2021 I believe. In February of 2022 he went back to Bosnia. In October of 2022 she visited him in Bosnia and they got married. In July of 2023 she started the petition. It got appoved 14.5 months later, in late September of this year IIRC.

Anyway, I guess we'll know soon enough what happens.

Not really practical to "ask for a friend" in this forum.  Why isn't the US Citizen spouse here discussing this, or even your friend directly.  Second hand information is unreliable.   You don't know the questions to ask or whether you've gotten a meaningful answer.  My advice is to get one or both of them involved directly in the discussion.  It will save time and confusion.

The wife is actually my friend. We work together and connected through the fact that she's married to a man who is also from from the same country as me.

His English isn't proficient enough to navigate through here.

And why she's not on here is because she doesn't even know this forum exists and isn't very tech or internet savvy. I've helped with the prep and the steps for the interview, helped create logins for websites, interpret certain requests or questions, etc.

So I'm just trying to help but it's not very productive because I don't know have all the info and I don't know how exactly everything happened.

I hope this is just a case of a missing document, and that there isn't a long, complicated story behind it.

You would be helping more, if you lead her here.  It's not difficult to find.
