They cleared my case after 18 months from AP and even requested me few documents too. Everything was going fine and I booked my medical exam too but today they said we have received your documents but your case is still in AP. Does anyone have any idea that why is this happening?

It is a first time I see such an event in this forum! It's unusual! How long it took between sending passport request+medical exam email and the time they told you your case is still in AP?

Sorry to hear this. Although I have not seen such a case before, I have seen many odd scenarios here in this forum. So, I am not surprised. It's a very inconsistence practice there. I suggest you keep bugging them and pointing out that it was them who told you it was over. Ask them to check with the Visa Officer...

This is completely normal. When it says AP that includes everything they are doing to your case up until they hit the issue button. Don't worry about it.

Hello everyone, where can I check the status of the greencard? I crossed the border to activate my visa 2 weeks ago and returned back to Canada to wrap things up. I checked the site https://egov.uscis.gov but its asking for a receipt number which i don't have.

You should have it, from when you paid the fee? That’s the receipt number you need.

Ok, now I understood. Basically they didn't ask you to do a new medical examination and sending passport to them, they only asked extra documents for processing your case. Then, it is not unusual, in some cases they request further docs. I believe this is a good sign that they are working on your case, but it doesn't necessarily mean they clear the AP in short amount of time.

it has been 17 months since my case is in AP, does anyone here whos case is still in AP for more than 18 months? I sent several inquiries myself and through congressman and always received a same reply that case is still in Administrative Processing!

Is it the right time to file WOM after 17 months? or should wait to complete round figure to 18 months or AP will clear right after 18 months? Also during I-130, DS260 and the for the whole process we hired one lawyer which I think he was new in this profession like only have few years of experience at the time we filed i-130.

I have a question that, if we go for filing WOM, we should continue with current lawyer, which I am not sure if he is an expert of filing WOM lawsuit or not?
For filing WOM is it really necessary to go with a lawyer who have a good experience with WOM instead of someone who dont have much experience?
Is there really WOM lawsuit experts, or it doesnt matter we can go with any immigration lawyer?
If I change the lawyer for WOM lawsuit, will it create any issue later after AP clear?

People who have WOM experience and have knowledge, can you please share names of good lawyers for WOM.

Please guide.
Thanks

Don't take my word for it but I would save your money. From the posts on here that I have read the WOM did not seem to help. They did at first but not anymore. You are close to the end of waiting. I know it's a pain but go through the comments here and check it out.

Yes I know its so painful, but how i can assume that I am close to end of waiting? its 17 months already, maybe they will take complete 24 months :( or 28 or 30?  even if 24 months still its 7 months left.
