My wife (Now citizen) filed an I-130 for her adult (over 26) child and family in 2019.   This was given a WAC* receipt.  Both the child/family (Norway-> Iceland) and we have moved (same state different city/addr) since and filed the noted address changes however are not sure that they were modified for the paperwork. Based on the results of the recent election we were checking on status and found a note:

----

Case Migrated To ELIS

On May 15, 2024, we moved your case into our electronic immigration system for processing. We have assigned a new receipt number to your case, IOE*. Please use this new receipt number when interacting with USCIS or viewing updates on your case.

You may use your USCIS online account to track your case anytime from anywhere. If you do not have a USCIS online account, you can create one on our website.

----

There was no mail notification of this, nor any texts, or chats at this time.   Does anyone know whether the waiting time (expected 7-10 years back on filing) was extended (last estimation + 5 years that we have already waited)

Thanks for any suggestions/comments

Visa numbers are available for priority dates before 01MAY2016. A few years to go to be current. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-december-2024.html

Seems you might have a missed a snail mail with the new IOE#. The IOE# would allow you to create an online account to track your case, and have access to the same documents USCIS mails to your address. If you don't know what it is you should contact USCIS ASAP.

That’s for F2B but OP says spouse is a citizen now. So F1 category, possibly F3, depending on what ‘and family’ means. If that includes a spouse now then they’ve still a decade or more to go.

@cmellgren, it doesn’t change anything, all of the old paper cases are gradually being migrated to the online system but that’s all it is.

I assume F3 as the case was not filed until she became a USC.

So a long wait.

Not married F1

Married F3

I assume a fair bit over 21

not sure the F3 issue - wehn she came over to be my wife, the children did not want to come over with her.   one of them has since changed their mind

Did wife file for adult child when she was permanent resident or when she was USC?
Is adult child married?

My original assumption I thought she filed when she was LPR. So if she filed when she was LPR and adult child is currently unmarried then you can stick with category F2B and not upgrade to F1. So please clarify.

we are married and child is married and has 2 children  - we expected when filed in 2019 that it would take 7-10 years - but did the WAC -> IOE transition add more years ( or shorter as i have seen here in some chats)

You are waiting for the PD to be current, maybe mid 2030s?

ok - will keep checking - the other concern we have is whether the addresses for both my wife (us- petitioner) and the child have been updated as they have moved from Norway to Iceland in the meantime.  we sent email for child and the address change for us  it is simply impossible to contact USCIS

the I-130 was filed AFTER wife became citizen

Thanks for the clarification. Category is F3 then. Boiler has given you approximate timeframe when visa number becomes available.
