Hi everyone,

I’m seeking advice regarding my daughter’s visa application process. She had her interview on December 10, 2024, at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines. During the interview, she was handed a 221g form and asked to provide a copy of her CENOMAR.

On the same day, we complied with the requirements:

  • Submitted the requested documents (including the CENOMAR) via LBC, along with her passport and other supporting documents.
  • Uploaded a copy of the CENOMAR to the CEAC portal.

It has now been several days, and we haven’t received any updates regarding her visa status or the return of her passport.

I have a few questions:

  1. Are we missing anything in terms of the submission process?
  2. How long does it usually take to get an update or for the passport to be returned?

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar experience or insight into how long 221g cases typically take to process.

Thank you so much in advance!

There's no set timescale I'm afraid, it depends on the checks they're doing. It's just a case of waiting and keeping an eye on her CEAC status.

Good luck.

Yesterday, I was double-checking all the documents we submitted and uploaded. When I logged into my CEAC account, I noticed that the status of all the uploaded documents showed as "UPLOAD," while the ones I submitted previously were marked as "SUBMITTED."

I realized that I had only uploaded the new documents without formally submitting them. Could this be the reason why my daughter's visa status hasn't been updated yet? I also checked the status, and it shows the last update was on December 15.

Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

No, because they want to see originals at the interview stage anyway. If you only submitted the doc a week ago then they just need time to get to it and look at it. If your case was updated on 15th December then that is a good sign, that's probably when they received it.

Best of luck.

The original Certificate of No Marriage was required after interview and ask to submit the original copy of it and upload it in the CEAC Website. I was able to upload but not Submit, that is why I am wondering that this could be the reason why it's not processed yet. Thank you so much for your response, this gives me hope.

Hello po,

My younger brother just had his interview last November 26, on the same day, he got a 221g to reupload a document on CEAc because the original upload was not clear. And, only ask him to send hos "passport" on his 221g.  It has been three weeks and we haven't got any update. It is so stressfull. My mom send them an email and called everyday, we don't have any luck. The last update on CEAC was on December 5.

Thank you for your response. It’s kinda frustrating. I am hoping that my daughter can spend the holidays with me and still hoping.

I received an email form US Embassy Manila stating that they received the documents and will let us know.

Can you please let me know when you get an update on your case?

Thank you so much.

Hello po,

Here's our CEAC update so far:

Interview Date: Nov. 26

221G Submission: Nov 26

CEAC Status "Refused" Dec 5

CEAV Status "Refused" Dec 23

My mom extend her ticket 4x hoping my brother will able to go with her, but no luck. Hoping to get his visa "issued soon". My mom end up coming back here because it so close to Christmas already. We called today, the representative says the us manila embassy is close on Dec 24 and 25. So. I have a feeling we will get answer after New Year. Please let me know about your daughter case too. Thank you. Best of luck too po.
