My father is about to sponsor his kids (parents are here in IR5) but just realized that on his passports on the first name it’s .. (no first name) and the surname has (first name+last name) so on his green card stamp it’s says first name is FNU and last name is first+last name and on SSN card has first and last name both but on the envelops it’s says unknown and then first and last name. What should we do about this?
if he sponsor his kids will it effect but other than that all of the birth certificate marriage certificates have correct name

or should mom sponsor the kids but she doesn’t work but they are gonna file joint taxes!

Ideally both parents would petition them as it will take so long, so that you have a second parent application as 'back up' in case something happens to one of them. But if it's easier just your Mom could petition them, it doesn't matter that she doesn't work as long as she has a joint sponsor that qualifies.

I'm not really following the name differences on each document, but if it's wrong on the green card/SSN then you need to get them corrected anyway.

So on his green card it’s says first name FNU and last name is first and last name

so I’m worried if he sponsor his kids it might create a problem

And can my spouse be the joint sponsor he was also a joint sponsor when I petition the parents?

Then you need to get his green card corrected, by filing an I-90.

Yes, if he's eligible (and sounds like he is if he has already been a joint sponsor). So if needed he can be added when they get to the point of the NVC side of things, which is a while away (possibly as much as a decade away, depending on the age of the kids).

if they are not married ,  the parents should apply ASAP

as one of the points of immigration that Trump mentioned was stopping chain migration (1st term)

Filing now would make the petition grandfathered in

In all cases, USCIS bases the determination of approvable when filed on the circumstances that existed at the time the immigrant visa petition or permanent labor certification application was filed. For example, a petition or application may still be considered “approvable when filed” even if the employer filing the petition or application later went out of business.[20]
