Hey all! I'm an American and my husband is the beneficiary in Japan and we are about to have our second child. The kids got their citizenship taken care of quickly so they dont need an application process, but because I am in Japan, and was working part time due to maternity/younguns, we needed a joint sponsor.

He makes enough for my husband and for one child, I believe, per the federal poverty level, but when we get an interview number two will be born. Since my kids aren't needing to immigrate as they are eligible or already have their passport, would they still need to be under the joint sponsor's consideration?

No. Just spouse. As you mentioned your kids are (or will be) USCs so they don't need sponsorships.

all children are listed on the I 864 even stepchildren or children not living with u

Part 5. Sponsor’s Household Size Add together the number of persons for whom you are financially responsible. Some of these persons may not be residing with you. Make sure you do not count any individual more than once. In some cases, the same person could fit into two categories. For example, your spouse, whom you would enter in Item Number 3., might also be a lawful permanent resident for whom you have already sponsored using Form I-864 (Item Number 6.). If you included your spouse in Item Number 3., do not include him or her again in Item Number 6.

Right. But joint sponsor doesn't need to list US citizen children of the primary sponsor because they don't need sponsorships.

Op, you'll fill your own I864 listing your children as part of your family but make sure you are not listing them as being sponsored; just as part of family size. But to your original question, your joint sponsor doesn't have to list your kids, only your husband as who he is sponsoring.

they are on I 864 but not filing for a visa as they don't need one

but they are part of the income needed to support an immigrant visa for the husband

so, they are not being sponsored but are part of the income bracket numbers

i even had to list 2 grown sons as children

I don't think you get the original question. The US children of primary sponsor should NOT be included on Joint Sponsor's I864. Only the beneficiary needs to be stated along with Joint sponsor's own family.
