Hello.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have been with my boyfriend for a year.
I am in EU and he is in NA. We have looked into immigration because we want to be together. We have decided to go for the K-1 Fiance Visa

Now upon reading up on all the requirements we are suddenly realizing we might have a problem with some of the proof? Mainly pictures together.
We are just not phone / picture taking people. We have had 5 visits, with the next coming up in February. We are planning to file for the visa "now", like ASAP, when we have done enough research.

We have like 4 pictures together though. We never thought of needing proof of anything you know? When we are finally together we are not bringing out the phone. We are together and enjoying time. I think we have like 3-4 pictures together and then a few from Thanksgiving that his mother took of us all. But thats pretty much it?

Will we be okay? Do we need to fake our personalities to be together and suddenly become picture people? Help!

Edit: I do have a lot of webcam screenshots I guess. Because when we are apart, I become desperate and miss him so much. I think I have more pictures of him sleeping on webcam, then I have of him awake IRL xD

i believe we submitted 5-10 photos. 3 or 4 were selfies, the rest were pictures that family had taken of us.

photos are great but USCIS prefers passport stamps, flight itineraries, etc.

we aren't really picture people either and we had zero issues with submitting very few photos

boarding passes work good'

flight itinerary doesn't prove a person boarded the plane

hotel receipts to show u were in  the same country at same time

or receipts from any places u visited together  like concerts,  museums

For UE its not as big an issue as it would be from high fraud country

Please keep in mind that you are definitely going to have to prove you two have a bona fide relationship at some point in the process. I will tell you that I HATE having my picture taken LOL but once Jaycel and I decided that we wanted to spend our lives together in the US which would necessitate us going through the immigration process, I swallowed my distaste for having my photo taken. I embraced the fact that until she becomes a citizen, we will continually have to prove our relationship is legit throughout the process and that part of that proof is going to be photos of us together. Get over it and start on your next visit together taking a few pictures each day and you will eventually have lots to choose from in the future. Just my two cents :)

We did a K-1, husband is from a similar low-fraud country.  We have never submitted any snapshots whatsoever, for any part of the process.  "Relationship proof" is not part of the K-1 process.  You need to show that you've met at least once during the preceding two years.

You never submitted snapshots as part of the AOS or ROC? Bold.

In my opinion the amount of pictures you have seem sufficient for now (that is, for applying for your k1 and proving that you two have met(because proof of having met is all you need for k1)). However, from now on, start taking those pictures. You might need them in the future for your adjustment of status.

I found it difficult to do as well, but I got used to taking pictures after a while. Just take a quick shot when you’re together or with friend and family.

Another thing: immigration doesn’t care about your opinion on how things are done (unfortunately). You just have to do them. Even (especially) though it’s annoying.

We submitted one picture. For my interview I had more pictures taken since the initial filing but I wasn't asked for it. I was approved on the spot.

All advice here is valid but ultimately pictures are secondary evidence as the dates cannot be proven (USCIS do not concern themselves with EXIF data).

Your primary evidence is passport stamps, boarding passes, travel itineraries, accommodation booked in both names, etc.

Same - no pictures were submitted by us as part of the K1 visa application, the conditional green card nor the ROC application we submitted in the spring. Nor letters from people. Never an issue never an RFE not one question about the lack of those things during the process.

Well I’m a firm believer in sending the strongest case possible for any immigration benefit application and to me that includes strong primary and secondary evidence. Happy you guys didn’t have any issues but personally I wouldn’t want to risk it. Just my own personal philosophy

I understand and everyone has their own risk profile I guess, I did not see omitting secondary evidence as a risk at all. IMHO.
