I need some help. I leave August 28 for Cairo and the hotel I wanted is booked up for the price I can afford. Im looking to spend about $40USD per night. Does anyone know of any decent hotels in Maadi area?? Old Cairo area??? Or close to those areas??? Preferably one with internet access. I"d really appreciate the help....

Have you thought of staying in a flat? You'll have more privacy and it's easy to get one for that price. Your husband just has to ask around and he can get something. If not I just did a quick search via orbitz.com and found the following for your timeframe:

Concorde $28/night

Husa Pyramids $28/night

tripadvisor.com always rates this hotel very high but you have to call them to reserve any space since they don't have a website. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g2...amps-Cairo.html

Thanks for the replies...Amr is my fiance so a flat for the two of us isn't an option. I had WANTED the Maadi Hotel but the service I was using said the rooms were all booked...so 65 dollars for 10 nights was a bit high for me since im planning another trip in a few months for our interview. BUT ALhamdolellah.....I went through expedia.com and got the Maadi Hotel for only 35 dollars a night....so we are set. My fiance isn't a fan of me being in a flat alone.

thanks to you all

Oops!!! I didn't even look to see if you were married since your screenname has "mrs" in it. My bad!!!

Well congrats on getting such a good rate! Now that you're done it doesn't matter but I wanted to warn you not to book with asiarooms because I tried doing that for my last trip and it turned out to be a nightmare!!! They had quoted a little over $100/night for the Helnan Palestine which was going for well over $300/night on all the other sites. I booked it...so I thought..but didn't read the fine print. They took about 5 days to confirm and when they did they told me that it was all booked up. That's all well and fine but they held the money in my credit card so I could not use it for over 2 weeks!!!!! Because of that and the fact that I didn't wanna just break open a new credit card in such a short amount of time my husband ended up getting us a flat. That turned out ok except the a/c broke down. It was in a very nice area and was very clean, etc. but omg I will never use asiarooms again!!!!

I didn't like that they advertised a room then said the 'HOTEL HAD NO MORE ROOMS AVAILABLE". Yet the hotel DOES have rooms FOR that rate as I found with Expedia.com. In the past i've used GTA Hotels with great success....and expedia.com was easy and I didn't have to wait for them to "confirm" the reservation. I"ve gotten mixed reviews on this hotel but then I stayed in a 3 star hotel in Egypt before...I know its not the same as our hotel rating here. I would LOVE to rent a flat but he just isn't big on it since the hotel has the security....and a doctor available....(im having health issues)

Thanks
