Finding a job in the field of agriculture and plant science is difficult

I am a newly joined GC holder ，with many years of research and work experience in the field of agriculture and plant science.

How to find a job in a new environment.

Depends on where you are and you level of education (BS, MS, PhD, etc.), but I would start with looking at Universities that have agriculture departments.  For instance, in Michigan, Michigan State University has a large agriculture and plant and soil science department.

Some top universities in the USA offering degrees in agriculture and plant science include: University of California, Davis, Cornell University, University of Florida, Iowa State University, Purdue University, Michigan State University, Rutgers University, Texas A&M University, and Oregon State University

 

I would contact one of the above and ask to speak to a consular who can advise and direct u to the proper area for work or advance US degree whatever u prefer.  these colleges also have a list of job openings that may offer u work or research grants

Thank you for your advice. Other basic conditions are good, but language is the first problem.

1.  Search for professional societies in these fields.  Many should have job listings and maybe chat boards.

2.  Find a U.S. mentor in these fields and ask for advice.

3.  Work hard to improve your English.

4.  Maybe your home language will prove to be an asset if bilingual ability is desirable.

Also look at your local community college for ESL classes.  My wife took a couple of those when she came over and she found them very helpful with improving her English.
