all - please note that political discussions should only take place in
https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/145-current-events-and-hot-social-topics/

politics should not be discussed anywhere else other than in that forum as it often turns into a slagging match between members.

moderators then show up.  thread bans, deletions, death, and worse happens then.  would not recommend.

OP, historical processing times have varied widely.  Our AOS in 2018/19  (straightforward also) took like 13 months with an interview.  ROC took 18 months, no interview.  There were people here on VJ with timelines similar to ours who had much shorter and much longer wait times.   There is not always rhyme or reason, and the local field office greatly impacts it.

Like others are saying, start reading and following the threads here on VJ that align with your timeline.  The more you read and research, the more likely you are to be successful with US immigration.

Thanks Ben, I really did not intend to stir anything, and I hate heated debates but as comments cannot be post edited I can’t do anything now.

Plus even after deleting my comment, the threat remains that an already complex system might become more cumbersome as laws change.

Talking about the law is not the same as talking about politics (I asked my law professor husband 😂  and he said that talking about a possible change in immigration law is about law. While talking about the debate and who said what and when, in Parliament or senate ètc, that is about politics. )

Whatever you guys want is going to be fine with me, delete the thread if you wish. I am not pro or against anyone, just planning ahead according to imminent laws which will affect my life here now. Thanks!
