Error when attempting to pay visa fee

I was notified today that our case has been transferred from the NVC to the U.S. Embassy in Manila. I have completed the DS-160 and filled out most of the visa application on the U.S. Visa Scheduling website. However, I am encountering an issue on the final page, where it requests our NVC case number and payment option. When I attempt to submit the information, I receive the following error: "The Case Number entered is invalid. Please confirm your Case Number and re-enter it."

Currently, our CEAC status shows as "In Transit." Do I need to wait until it changes to "Ready" before I can pay the visa fee?

I have heard that on the new website the case number will show as invalid until CEAC shows it as "Ready". That's just through the grapevine though so take it for what it's worth. Good luck to you guys!

Thank you! This puts my mind at ease. I was concerned there might be an issue that would take time to request support and resolve.

I have heard the same from someone using the new system.  Once it was in READY status, it went through.
