Hello and happy thanksgiving all!!

We have managed to get married and I have returned home to do the consular process.

After returning home, I realised that I got pregnant.

I understand it isnt possible to expedite but my husband is looking to a possibility of me giving birth in the US.

I am on Esta, and I doubt that I can get a B2 to visit US for 5 months and my job could only allow me to go on leave for 5 months.

Im at a loss on what to do.

I agree, have your husband research CRBA as the child can be a USC through that route.  It might be easier for you to run your pregnancy in your current home with Drs. You are familiar with rather than trying to find Drs. here.

Good Luck!

Agree with the above, there's no need for you to give birth in the US, and it wouldn't be terribly practical anyway. Far better to get your husband to come to you for the birth, and the baby should still be a USC at birth anyway, if your husband is eligible to pass his citizenship on.

Good luck it all.

Thank you so much all for the constant support and answering!!

Indeed it does sound cheaper and easier giving birth in SG.

I was honestly debating to go there at 8 months pregnant as my husband said his insurance could cover the expenses but at the same time, I am pretty worried about being by myself at home.

I just want to say... Firstly congratulations! From experience we got pregnant, I had the baby in my home country and its possible to get the baby registered as a US citizen. It will probably be easier for you because you guys are married. I'll be honest it was not great doing Pregnancy by myself but my partner came over for the birth and I'm sure that would be doable for you guys!

Just remember to look after yourself as much as you can, try not to stress too much about the situation And try to plan things as early as possible.

Hello @GingerZebra, thank you!!

I was looking at the CRBA procedures and wondered if it is a must for the USC to be at the embassy here in SG for it to be completed?

Did you do it immediately after the child birth please?

And was there any issues trying to fly back with the baby to US?

Or idk, maybe the passport issuance.

Nothing is immediate after birth. You need to wait to get the birth certificate in your country (figure out how long it takes ahead of time) before you can go to the interview for CRBA - with the baby. USC needs to complete the forms as well as provide documents. Why wouldn't he be there for CRBA appointment?

As long as baby has his/her passport, he/she is fine flying - our kids were on the plane at 6 weeks old.

Due to personal reason, the usc is unable to be present in sg.

Will this personal reason impact sponsoring you?
