@Josh B K I totally hear you, it's a hard pill to swallow. We are indeed doing the F1 spousal visa. I am from the US, my husband is from Mexico. You're welcome to send over more questions! I don't mind sharing here as it may be helpful to others, but a DM also works!

@R_Garnett thank you for being open to chat. We've established that we are both in the same situation - F1 spousal visa, DQ'd, and waiting for an interview date in Ciudad Juarez.

You were DQ'd Nov. 25, 2024. I was DQ'd Feb. 12, 2025; so, we are about three months apart. Since being DQ'd you have currently been waiting 3 months with no word from NVC. Based on info from It will be great for us to stay in touch on this thread and keep each other informed. I'd love to know when you receive your interview letter so that I can gave a good idea of when to expect mine.

Data So Far:

<User>, <DQ'd Date>, <Interview Assigned>, <Interview Date>

Are you able to "edit" the title of this thread? Maybe we could title it "Ciudad Juarez Interview Wait Times 2025" and attract more visajourney.com members to share info specific to this consulate

Personal Stuff:

I'm from Seattle, USA and my husband is from Mexico. Currently, I spend most of my time in Mexico, but I still have my main residence in Seattle. We met 3 years and 10 months ago and got married in Mexico after dating here for 2.5 years. My work was flexible; so, after we met, I put my Seattle condo on the rental market and came to be with Antonio in Mexico. I never dreamed this adventure would turn into nearly 4 years in Mexico. I go home regularly to check on my things and see friends, but enough time has passed that the arrangement has really changed things in life. On the positive side, my Spanish is excellent. My husband, Antonio, is from Veracruz. Currently, we live in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

@Chaval congratulations!! I'm so happy for you two. Question though -- I thought that if accepted, the visa is given on the day of or the day after the interview? Can you share a bit about why it didn't work out that way?

And @Josh B K I’m so sorry for the delayed response! I tend to lose track of this forum since the notifications aren’t the best. Thanks for sharing about your love story! I can only imagine how exhausting the back-and-forth must be in so many ways. That said, I don’t take for granted how lucky we are to go through this process while being able to live with our partners—so many couples don’t have that privilege 😔 I've kind of been checked out of all of this for a bit, as it's just too much sometimes. Are you seeing any updated info on timing?

I am not sure if that is the case but maybe you are right, what happened was that we miss a document, the police certificate from Mexico. We got it the same day but we had to mail it thru DHL along with her passport. This was done the day after. 9 business days after we got an email from them to pick up the visa. The visa was printed in her passport in one of the Visa Sheets, I am not sure if that is done the same day in the consulate or might take than some time to do so. But our main delay was missing the police certificate and mailing them.

@Chaval Thank you very much for keeping us informed! Your data is part of the dataset I am using to report on average wait times in Ciudad Juarez in this discussion.

You are welcome! Hope everything moves fast for you, I am hopping this administration makes things happen, because with the previous one everything was slow!

Now we are in the path of her citizenship, 2 years 11.5 months more!😝

@Chaval oh gosh, I'm not sure I have any faith that the current administration will be much faster. But, it is what it is! I have a question for you. Did you have to provide additional tax returns from the ones you submitted to NVC? As you know, they ask to see the previous 3 years tax returns but since the wait time is so long I'm wondering if they ask for a more recent tax return at the interview. For example, we submitted tax returns for 2021, 2022 & 2023 because we had to submit in 2024. But our interview won't be till November 2025 or later, and so I wonder if they'll ask to see 2024's tax return.

Hey! Yeah hopefully they do start picking up their pace and get things done! At the time of the interview i did provided my wife a printed copy of the 2024 Income tax, but they did not even see it. Since I made way much money I wanted to provide it. I will suggest you to take it with you if you have it and if you know it won’t affect you. But they really do not request for any additional documents, only the originals that you sent to NVC
