Yesterday (Nov. 25, 2024) my husband and I received a notice from the National Visa Center indicating that we are officially "documentarily qualified" and that the next step is the interview. I'm curious to see if anyone has insight on the wait time between receiving the DQ notice and the date of the interview? The immigration service we're using (Boundless) says that on average it's 2-3 months. This is for a spousal visa for what that's worth.

Hello, good luck on your journey, I am looking the same information here. We got it approved by the Nvc in January 2, 2024, we are still waiting. I checked a lot of resources back then and even here. Some people and AI mentioned that the wait time was 9 months. I checked again after 9 months and it change to 10-12 months. So we are hoping to see something soon but it could be a whole year.

@Chaval are you currently in Mexico, or in the US already?

My wife is Brazilian, she is currently living in Juarez. I had to move for work, so I live in the USA. So she has to keep on waiting for her interview at Juarez Consulate. Not sure how long they will take but we are hoping is just 12 months

@Chaval That's amazing! Oregon is so beautiful. I hope so too, we're keeping our fingers crossed that we can get to the US before 2026 but we'll see! Thank you for sharing a bit about your experience :)

Hello @R_Garnett. I was reading this conversation because I'm waiting for an interview date in Ciudad Juarez, just like you and @Chaval. I'm curious to know if you are still waiting.

@Josh B K Hello! I'm not sure if I'm replying to the right thread here (this forum is a bit odd), but we are indeed still waiting. We expect our wait to be about the same as what @Chavalexperienced -- so 11ish months. For us that would be in October of this year!

@Josh B K Did you get DQ'd yet? If so, what was your timeline from submission of docs to getting DQ'd?

@R_Garnett Thanks for the fast reply. Can I ask, are you guys doing a spousal visa in preference category F1? That's to ask, are one of you a US citizen?

I'm just finding this thread. I'm a little saddened to see it might be a year before we get an interview. Gosh.

Can I ask a few questions about your story? If you prefer, we can move to a private message here on Visa Journey.
