@wazzujoel

Thank you for taking the time to clarify and explain that you are really trying to help. The language in forums can sometimes feel more critical than helpful, so I appreciate your effort to make things clearer.

We have consulted a lawyer, but we feel confident that we can resubmit the I-485 ourselves and be very careful this time about providing exactly what the RFE or any additional documents request. From what we understand, we can resubmit the I-485 as many times as needed (though we obviously don’t want to make this a recurring process). If this is a bad assumption, please correct us.

Before submitting the form again, you might want to prepare a list of what to include, prepare your package, and then make a post to see if it seems complete to other members.

Do not forget to include what should have been included in your response to the RFE.  Triple check so you do not get a RFE this time.

I second this. Nothing wrong with making a forum post that has a detailed list of what you plan to submit 🙂 I personally love posts where we help decide if the evidence is sufficient, insufficient, or over-kill. My personal approach to dealing with USCIS is to aim for "sufficient" and not venture into over-kill. Remember the agents are people to, so I don't want them getting annoyed at having to wade through too much repeat or unnecessary evidence.  At the same time, you want to make sure you aren't missing anything.
