Seeking Advice: K-1 Visa Delays in Lima, Peru

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to hear from others who might have experienced something similar in their K-1 visa journey. My fiancé and I have been waiting for several months, and we’re not sure what else to do but wait.

Our case is being processed in Lima, Peru. In July, we received an email from our immigration attorney with instructions to create an account to schedule the interview appointment. Since then, we’ve completed the DS-160 and followed the instructions to register on the scheduling platform. However, every time we check, the system says that our case is not ready to schedule an appointment.

I called the embassy recently, and they confirmed that there are no available appointment dates yet. The only advice they gave was to keep waiting, which seems to be the only solution at this point.

I would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process in Lima or any other location. How long did it take for you to get an appointment? Were there any additional steps you took that helped? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated as we navigate this uncertain waiting period.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences!

You might try checking the immigration timelines on this site for Lima (Peru) K-1s for an idea of wait times. It will also be helpful if you fill out your timeline.
