10years Greencard received even if I entered US before 2years of marriage

My husband was LPA on F2A category when he applied for my GC and I received GC of 10 years. I have already completed almost 5years and have applied for my N400. My application is in processing. But, now I realise, was it a mistake that I was given a 10year GC instead of 2year? 

Did anyone has same case around would like to know and was there any issues..

Your entire Green Card history will be reviewed.  If you were supposed to remove conditions, you will not be able to naturalize until the I-751 has been adjudicated first.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

What do you mean he was 'on F2A category'? You mean that was how he got his green card? But you married after he got it?

 

How long had you been married for when you got your green card?

This is confusing.  I will assume that you meant your husband was an LPR and petitioned you as F2A.  If that is correct, your first GC would be for 10 years.  

 

Edit, your first GC should have been 2 years.  This is the first time I saw a situation of someone entering in less than 2yrs of marriage on F2A.

Seems you were issued a 10 year GC in error then. Not sure why the lawyer thinks that isn't an issue?

I would not trust that answer from the attorney.  With the new administration coming in, I would make sure EVERYTHING is in order for naturalization.

You have said something which people are not cognizant of. With the Trump administration coming in, it's not going to be business as usual. Extreme wisdom and discretion is needed.

The usual recourse is to submit an I90 as soon as you get the incorrect card .. then file for I751 when that windows opens and then file for N400 when that window opens.
 

As you have missed the first and hence second step, this  is now more complex.
 

I think you need GOOD SOLID immigration legal advice on how to step through those 3 steps,  given that you are now way late on filing the I751. Better you start the ball rolling than wait for the N400 to fall over …. Not sure what else will be refused as a consequence of your whole file review. 
Without the I90, the system will tell you that you don’t need to file I751. But, when the case gets reviewed in person, this will be identified and will  need to be sorted out. Not a simple or quick process but essential if you want to naturalise and /or  know that your immigration record is clear.

This is a bit like what we went through.  My wife came on a K-1 and her (first) green card was a 10 year.  We inquired and jumped through hoops only to be told we didn't need to remove conditions.  We decided to just go with it.  There was never an issue at naturalization.

At time of Resident Since date on her GC, were you married for 2 years or less than that?

As per Neonred timeline .. less than 2 years.. around  1 yr if i recall correctly   But this  was in  2006 .. wow , I’m  up for 20 yr anniversary in 2025!! 😀 congrats
