Did I need to file I-751? Did I mess up?

Hello,

I have been a LPR for 7 years through marriage with a US citizen, and applied naturalization this year.

I have never held a 2 year (conditional GC?) green card — I have received the 10 year one, as we had been married over 3 years by the time of my I-485 interview happened.

I didn’t really think twice about filing a I-751 as I’ve never held a 2 year GC… I thought it was pretty obvious and straightforward, but I can’t seem to find anything through searching. After seeing someone post their denial for not having filed I-751, I’m a little scared!

It’s a little late, but do I need it? should I file it now?

Thanks everyone for your valuable insights!

If at the time your I-485 was approved you were married for over 2 years, you rightfully received 10 year GC. You didn't need to file I-751.

Some people receive 10 year GC in error, when they should have received 2 year conditional card. They get in trouble if they don't file I-751.

All appears good in your case, don't worry :)

Thank you!

My interview is this coming Monday, so I’m getting quite nervous about everything!!
