that is correct
USCIS hasn't sent it to the NVC yet.

your case status will say "Your case has been sent to the Department of State on xx/xx/xxxx" when it is sent to the NVC

from there you will have to wait probably 45 days from the date its sent to contact the NVC if you haven't heard anything

So... my USCIS status history

4 months??? to put my APPROVED petition in the mail???

Is this not unusual?

We acknowledge your concern regarding the transfer of your petition to the NVC. Currently, we are experiencing a delay with file transfers to the NVC. We are doing everything possible to forward cases to the NVC in a timely manner. There is no standardized time frame for petitions to be scanned into NVC systems after receipt from USCIS. Current working timeframes can be seen at https://nvc.state.gov/timeframes/ .

We apologize for the delay and appreciate your continued patience.

as i said

USCIS is more than likely getting an influx of petitions with the upcoming administration change

and since I-129f are all still done on paper, your petition is probably still sitting in a pile on someones desk

it is incredibly unfortunate and i'm sorry you're in the situation.

it is just an unpleasant waiting game

We have the same NOA2 date! If you’ve already had your petition forwarded to NVC, congrats! But if not, take a look at your NOA2 letter. If they say “forwarded to consulate”, call USCIS immediately. Our case was stuck at “Case was approved” for three months and they never sent our I-129F to NVC until we called them. At first when we got our NOA2 letter we were excited but it said “forwarded to consulate”. We figured something might be wrong here since it should be forwarded to NVC. We tried contacting USCIS, no help. We tried contacting NVC, they said it might take up to three months to forward the petition. So we had to wait three months and then decided to call USCIS. That’s when the officer told us there’s a problem and a few days later our case was sent to Department of State and reflected on case tracker. So our case were sitting on their desk for three months without progress and we wasted all that precious time for nothing. We are quite frustrated about the whole thing still but we are back on track now.

If they say “forwarded to consulate”

This is just boilerplate language. My NOA2 in June said this and NVC received it within 3 weeks. This is simply a case of negligence with USCIS forgetting to send your approved petition to NVC. I'm very sorry it happened, but that language in the NOA2 is not indicative of a problem.

It’s strange that they don’t a have a consistent template for that letter… That has caused us a lot of headache and doubt. It was very unfortunate… Hope everyone will get to their turn, eventually.

That's the Federal Government for you.... Nothing makes sense and they don't care that it doesn't. I hope everyone does too and quickly. I remember all the waiting and it is agonizing. So happy you guys are back on track! :)

Same here, contacted USCIS and they told me a worker just used a generalised approval template, and that all i-129f / k1 go to NVC then the embassy and to ignore the generic template that didn't reflect the actual k1 process.

My case also went from approved, to sent to DOS, through NVC then arrived at embassy.

Inquire again on the public inquiry form for your case number. They will get it to you. Also make sure you give them yours and your beneficiary's email addresses and ask them to update your file with them. I say to do this because when they sent your application to the embassy you should have received a K1-FTP letter in your email. Might be worth checking your spam/junk folder to see if it's there.
