Hello guys! I came to USA as fiancee visa. my green card shows resident since 03/28/22.

When am I eligible to apply for citizenship ?

Thanks and all the best!

Hi, if you want to file under general provision, you're not yet eligible and will be eligible 12/28/2026

If you want to apply based on marriage to US citizen (e.g. still married and you live in marital union from start of LPR status until oath), then the earliest you can file N-400 is 12/28/2024. I'd file first week of 2025 or later to be sure.

By the way, is your I-751 still pending?

yes my i751 is still pending - case is being actively reviewing. My green card is expired now so I have a 48 months extension form

Sounds good. You'll likely be either late December 2024 filer or early January 2025 filer. Don't file before 12/28, you'll get denied. You can start populating your form, but don't submit before 12/28. Some people saw denial when filing exactly on first day when they were eligible, so it's best to file at least 12/29.

Case got filed by lawyer.

General provision (5 year rule), within 90 day early filing window.

Got a one time key to link

representative (lawyer) to my account.

Once linked, was able to see N-400 case in the list of cases.

Got electronic copy of receipt notice immediately, as well as biometrics reuse.

All copies of submitted forms (G-28, N-400) are also available online for download.

Overall - lawyer's questionnaire contained extra questions that weren't relevant to N-400 such as parents names and their DOB, spouse's employment etc.

Looks like they use the same questionnaire for AOS and other types of forms. N-400 itself was easier to complete (I tried myself with test account) then answer their questionnaire 😃

Not complaining, lawyer did a great job communicating back and forth with me correcting forms after reviewing, even though it was during holiday period.

I had to ask to include tax return transcripts for the past 5 years. Those got added in additional evidence section.

I must admit, N-400 online form is much better than I thought few years ago.

Now waiting, not paying attention to estimates etc since they're all wrong.

Good luck to all December 2024 filers!
