I spend quite some time of the day at VJ too, but since Jonnie and I are not together yet and we're having a time difference of 9 hours, talking to him often isn't an option in the first place. He's either asleep or at work when I hang around here.

And he rather has me hanging around here with the good people at VJ than being out and about. :)

AOS & EAD:

10/13/2006 - sent AOS and EAD documents

My SO loves VJ!!!! He is also a guy who can spend hours on his PC...he runs his life on it....banking, shopping etc...plus he has games he is addicted to, but he isn't a forum person but does on occassions read stuff on here that catches his eye if he is on the sofa with me at the time....I have the laptop in front of the telly

I am not at work but VJ is kind of quiet during my day....starts to pick up around 5pm UK time. When he gets home from work he will spend some time in the office on the PC, he needs the time to unwind I think....then we get together and it is our time.

But I agree with the others....don't LET it become a problem between you...

No problems here, but then I don't come to VJ when my husband is visiting. He does think I'm spending too much time on my computer, but he's the same.

As others said, if your fiancée feels neglected due to VJ then she's probably right, and you should spend more time with her. Most women (like most men) don't complain without reason...

NicoleGG doesn't like it much at all. Thinks I'm too chatty and says if I ever post enough to get a heart there will be consequences.

omG, she is so pretty!

i on vj mainly at work..a few times at night and on the week-end..

i like to be paid t be on vj and at work, well there you go...

ditto on the getting paid to be on vj!:thumbs:

Wife b*tches that I spend too much time on the computer and don't talk to her enough. I say OK turn off American Idol. End of conversation. LOL

:lol::lol::lol:

As for us...when we are together, hubster actually spends more time on the 'pooter but I don't mind for the most part cuz I usually have plenty to do around the house. But if I whine to him that he's on too much, he'll say ok, whatcha want to do? The only time I really spend on VJ while he's around is if he's not on the pooter, but playing on his playstation or watching tv in the room where the pc is...and besides he likes a little VJ goss just like.......erm....the rest of us...:lol: He posts here about once every six months..LOL

Interesting post, Al.

My wife doesn't mind me VJing but she hates hearing about it. She thinks it's dumb and lame even though VJ is the #2 reason her visajourney went so damn well. #1 reason was pure dumb luck.

But in general my wife thinks I spend too much time watching TV or on the computer in general. So I just tell her I'm "working" when I'm on the PC and then she doesn't mind. That she likes. She also thinks I'm not hard-working enough. Which I'm not, I might add.

I see there is an even higher level of addiction by some members. :o Both couples sitting with a laptop in front of the TV! Wow.

We don't have a laptop, neither of us play computer games or playstation, etc games or chat anywhere. I'm glad or else I see we'd have even less time to hang out together when he's not at work!! What Sujeet will do sometimes on the computer is catch up on work(it's really work though, not VJ ;) ), and check email, not much else. I get upset if he works for hours on the computer, but really he tries to catch up on work with at the moment is overloaded. It doesn't happen much. And also we usually watch TV together. The only time we don't is when I watch Gilmore Girls, then he does something else. He doesn't have any shows that he watches that I don't like.

I know this is off topic but it is about spending time together...me and my friends, all of us who are married, we all always do things together with our spouses and friends who are single too. It's very rare we do different things on the weekends than our spouses or unmarried friends. Then we know other people where every time we see them, the wives of the marriages are out doing one thing while the husbands are together doing something else. It's interesting to see the differences. All of us are friends with each other, women and men both, so we never think of segregating the genders when making plans. So Sujeet and I are together during every possible activity outside of work. :D

I mostly come in here while I'm at work. (kinda like what dean said about getting paid to post on here :P ) My hubby will come in here if there is something interesting I've told him about, or if he just gets bored at work or home.

We've never complained about each other's computer use. We met on the net, we own message boards, we each have a website, we're both doing my aunt's business website, basically we're both big computer geeks, so we don't mind if the other is doing something online. Most of our online things (with the exception of his danish speaking ####### and sports) we do together (message boards, myspace, etc) so there is nothing to complain about.

But that's just us.... if you two are having problems because of it, then back off.... the net isn't worth it!

I think it's rather good to have outside interests, activities, plans, goals, hobbies...whatever you want to call them. We aren't cut from the same cloth, so I wouldn't expect him to be interested or even want to do everything with me, and vice versa. And I enjoy his nights out with the boys as much as he does...hahahahaa! I mean why would I want to go to some stinky punk gig and moan about being there, making him have less of a good time, when he can do that with someone who is just as enthusiastic about the gig as him? Also, there is nothing wrong with just being in the same room, if not occupied with the same activity. We don't need to have all of our attention focused on each other all the time we are together.

BUT that said...he DOES watch Gilmore Girls with me...:yes::lol:

We don't even have a computer at home, so I'm only on VJ at work.

I am of the opinion that, VJ being a way to help us be reunited with our loved ones faster and help us pass the time while doing so, it defeats the purpose when time with our loved one is sacrificed for time on VJ.

What's the point?

If it's a problem for one in the couple...then it's a problem for the relationship...but if one in the couple likes to spend the time on VJ and the other doesn't mind, I don't see that as harming the relationship. Getting reunited doesn't with your spouse/fiance(e) doesn't mean necessarily spending every waking moment together...you have to come to a mutual agreement about what is expected/necessary to make both people happy not only as a couple...but as individuals.

Of course. I should have clarified. Sacrificing time with our loved one for VJ would imply that our loved one has a problem with it.

Gotcha... :P

Nah, as soon as one person has a problem with the other's activities...it's time to have a sit down and come to a compromise/agreement.
