There's no way I'd let a freaking message board cause friction between me and my fiance. I'd stop posting here if that's what it was coming to.

I'm with Tracy on this matter. You need to make sure that the reasons you are on here are to "help" you with your Visa Journey and not hurt it! :)

When Joel and I are together...we don't allow the computer to encroach on our time. The time we have is so precious. If I knew my pc time was a hindrance to my relationship with Joel...and vice versa...then I would definately reduce it. Just something to think about. :)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

James likes to play war games on his laptop, so I usually sit next to him doing that and check out VJ on my laptop before doing some work everyday. We talk to each other throughout and take frequent breaks together so there are no complaints! I don't think he really gets my attachment to this board though. he has had a membership to some military and political boards for years, but never got involved in the social aspects...

For the now, I basically live on VJ and no complaints from hubby as I still spend the time with him once a day on yahoo chat/voice or phone. I imagine it will drop down once I have my visa and we are reunited but there would never be complaints as we BOTH spend an excessive amount of time sitting in front of a computer. Its an obsessive hobby for both of us so we understand each other completely. I agree with Tracy though.....if its causing a problem then one needs to cut back. It sure aint worth the relationship one has and is completely understandable that a partner can get poopy about it if the interest isnt shared and takes away quality time otherwise spent talking to your partner.

Totally agree with that. Dave and I both love to spend time online.... it was like that too when we lived together and it never took away our quality time (we included each other in what we were doing online most of the time... we have pretty much the same interests).

If it did get in the way of the relationship i'm sure we'd work something out.... and one of us would cut back some.

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

--- Wish us luck!!! ---

Hang on, let me ask my husband:

Me: Does it bother you that I come to VJ a lot?

Him: *giving me a really strange look* No...why would it?

So there you have it. :)

Of course, we both have laptops, so we sit side by side and surf the net whilst we watch TV. We're nerds. :D We also play games online together and play scrabble on our computers together and other things...but I'll stop rambling now. :P

The short of my ramble is: my husband does NOT mind me spending time on VJ.

We are usually on here at the same time. We have an office in the house and our PC's are in opposite corners. We still have friends going through the process. Plus we got so much help here we feel compelled to help others we havent' met yet.

I'd never let the computer stand in the way of my time with David. When he gets here, I'm sure I'll be on here much less than now....I luvs you guys and all, but I'd rather be spending my time with David than to be here night after night after night......

That bein said, I have made some nice friends here, and I don't plan on 'dropping' anyone after he gets here...I'd just manage my time better.

NicoleGG doesn't like it much at all. Thinks I'm too chatty and says if I ever post enough to get a heart there will be consequences.

omG, she is so pretty!
