Hi, F24 visa case here. The case has been DQ'ed since Jan 2021, and the priority date when log on to the ceac portal is Jan 2017. I recently logged into the ceac portal and this message came up "Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The National Visa Center (NVC) will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. The principal applicant should not make any firm plans such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time."

It means exactly what it says.  There is no visa number available for you yet.

Are you familiar with the Visa Bulletin?  If not, best to research and learn about how to read it.

As @SalishSea said you need to look at the Visa Bulletin.

As you can see from this month's VB, the current date is 1st May 2016 (assuming you're not from Mexico or the Philippines - much further back if you are), and therefore only those who have PD's before that date are eligible to get visas. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-november-2024.html Once your PD is current on the Visa Bulletin, you'll then be added to the queue for an interview and to go through the rest of the process.

But just don't assume that it will move forward with time. If you go back to earlier this year i.e. May 2024, you'll see that it's only moved forward a month since then, so one month progress in 6 months. And it's actually one month's progress in seven months, as next month's Visa Bulletin has already been released and it hasn't moved forward again.

Hopefully it will move a bit soon, but I'd guess at another couple of years perhaps, given the rate it's been going? That is just a guess though, nobody knows for sure.

Best of luck.
